Yusuke

I slept on Yusuke for a bit, and I regret it. I first heard about them when I chugged Delos, and heard that they were going to be putting out a split together. I meant to listen to them but never got around to it and then got distracted or something, I don't remember, but I forgot. Then a short while later I started seeing their name on various websites and heard people talking about them, which sparked my interest again, but nothing came of that either. Finally, I saw that the Delos / Yusuke split had been released, and that they are going on tour with Locktender and going to Europe, and I happened to have some time on my hands and gave them a listen. I was missing out. Sorry guys. Yusuke is a really good screamo band, and its pretty dope that people are making this kind of music. From what I can tell they are a pretty new band, and I'm really excited to see what becomes of them. Check out their bandcamp below and support them however you can. Word.

Antpile

Antpile is a post-hardcore band from Atlanta that I saw on tour. They were really nice guys and were really good, even though I think one of their members wasn't there or something and their drummer was about to go into surgery. Their guitarist hooked us up with a show at The Wonderroot, so if you need an ATL show hit up these guys. I'm having a hard time describing Antpile right now, because when I saw them live I thought they sounded kind of like Hot Cross but less technical. Now I'm listening to the recordings and I can't think of anything that they can be compared to. Its semi technical post hardcore, that has some splashes of harder screamo and stuff thrown in. Just check it out, they are really good. I am glad that there are bands like this still. They just released a split that you can buy here. Support the band, download their stuff. Word

ALSO, FOR REAL THOUGH, EVERYTHING BEFORE JULY 30TH 2012 IS DEAD. NEITHER OF US ARE GOING TO RE-UPLOAD FOUR YEARS OF ALBUMS. SORRY BUT THAT'S JUST NOT REALISTIC.

Orlock

Orlock, not to be confused with Graf Orlock, was a female fronted screamo band from Richmond, VA. They were around in the late '90s and someone in this band went on to be in Song of Zarathustra. I could only find two of their releases, but I think that might be their entire catalog.

Orlock played some pretty tight dark hardcore. The vocals are sick as fuck. Orlock is anything to fucking amazing, but they are a solid hardcore band. I really like this band because, aside from playing awesome heavy shit, they also have a good amount of weird noisy stuff going on.  For example, the song "Imposter" is like four and a half minutes, but the first three minutes are noise and field recordings. All of the recordings are kind of low quality, but it suits the songs well. In my opinion the second album is the superior, but both releases are really tight. Check it out. Word.

Lyburnum

Lyburnum is a hardcore band from LA. They are a two piece who share a drummer with Ten Thousand Leagues. They are pretty heavy and dark, but have a good bit of sceamo and punk influence. I really like their EP or demo or whatever, especially they last two songs. Just really great moshing music. They are going on tour with Ten Thousand Leagues, which starts really soon (dates here), so go check them out. Stoked on this band. Word.

Father Figure

Father Figure is a screamy band from Denton, TX in which Tommy from Innards plays drums. I don't know if the other guys are in bands, I wouldn't be surprised if they were. I also don't have the slightest idea how to pronounce their album name. No clue. I do know that they are going to be on tour with Innards starting like tomorrow or some crazy shit, so check all of that shit out. Playing with some dope bands. This album is really cool, high pitched vox and stuff. I dig it pretty hard. Even if I didn't like this band I would still support it because of Tommy, but I do like this band. I really enjoy this band. Download their album below, or you can jump on their bandcamp and pay them for a download. They should have merch on their tour, so throw them some bones while you throw Innards some bones. Word.

Chinesedream.

Chinesedream. is a screamy band from South Carolina. Really nice dudes. I really like their new EP alot, and they are going to be in the Interskramz vol. 2 compilation (see above post). I don't really know what else to say about this band except they are really really nice dudes, make good music, and I'm glad that I got to know these dudes. I think I am going to meet them this summer in South Carolina and I am beyond stoked. Check out their EP and tell them what you think, they deserve nice words. Word.

Caust

Caust is a screamy band from NOVA that, I think, consists of predominately young dudes. I've heard alot about these cats recently from people back home but I haven't been able to see them play yet. Bummed about that, but it happens. I was really stoked when I first heard this band because its nice to hear music like this being played by younger dudes. Young dudes who live in the greater D.C area too. They only have one release out, I think, which I have below. I couldn't find a video of them but if someone sends me a link to one I'll put it up here. Support these guys, they are cool. Word.

Song of Zarathustra

(I FUCKING HATE THE NEW LAYOUT OF GOOGLE BLOGGER IT SUCKS SO FUCKING HARD)

Song of Zarathustra was a sick as fuck hardcore/screamy band from Iowa. Aside from ripping it hard as shit, they were known for being like one of the only screamo bands to known how to use keys. They used a drum machine for a minute too. Yeah dude. In that fatty quote below I present to you the band's intense ass biography, provided by Last.fm. Got all their shit below too, with a lil video that's from a reunion show. Word.
Song of Zarathustra originated in Sioux City, IA during March 1997. The founding members were Trever McInnis, Travis Bos, James Munsen and a Roland R8 drum machine which was later replaced with David Seaman (ex-Nudibranch, ex-Orlock) on drums. For the next year, SOZ toured the greater part of the U.S. and disbanded in 1998 when David moved back to his hometown of Richmond, VA. From 1998-2000, James and Travis moved to Minneapolis, MN and formed The Book of Dead Names (featuring members of Cadillac Blindside, The Evening Rig, The Cardinal Sin and The Crush) while Trever resided in Oakland, CA forming the Kill In Me (also, featuring members of C- Blindside and Angel Hair). David formed the band Hot New Dance Hits with members of his previous band Nudibranch. March of 2000, SOZ decided to regroup. They toured immediately with the original line-up (Trever, Travis, James / Roland R8) and later recorded “The Birth of Tragedy” (Troubleman Unlimited) with Mark Jorgensen (Book Of Dead Names &; Infinity Dive) on drums. After the release of “The Birth of Tragedy”, SOZ toured most of the U.S. on many occasions and set course to tour Europe for its first time in 2001. In late 2001, SOZ parted ways with long time bass player James Munsen. Mark Shaw(Khayembii Communique, The Cardinal Sin) filled his place and Tad Kubler (formerly of Lifter Puller & currently The Hold Steady) joined as second guitarist. The new line up hashed out new songs as well as adding some life to songs that were written for the up and coming album “A View from High Tides” which was also released on Troubleman Unlimited. Early 2002 brought SOZ back to Europe for its second time. During the summer of 2002, Tad parted ways with SOZ to move to N.Y. and eventually forming The Hold Steady with old Lifter Puller bandmate Craig Finn. Due to several shifts in line up’s, personal differences, etc. the remaining members decided to call it quits in January of 2003.

Lord Snow

Alright so first off, any band that uses a Game of Thrones reference in any fashion is cool with me. Second, Lord Snow's new release "Sovngarde" is another dope ass reference to Skyrim. So yeah, just those two lil diddies right there should make them one of the most popular bands in the blog world. Not to mention they have members of The New Yorker, Lautrec and Suffix. Yeah dude.

So yeah, "Sovngarde" is fucking blistering. Female vox, shred city guitar work and pretty spazzy drums. I dig it real real hard. I like how their song structure isnt hella complicated but they play alot of cool riffs and fills and stuff. Its just real interesting and busy as fuck. The quality of the recordings is really cool too, I like the feedback and the vocals. "Sovngarde" is a lil more screamo than the EP, which was still skrumz and all but it had some choice punk parks in there too. The Ep, by the way, is also the dopeness. This band is pretty intense doggies, jump on board. I wish my computer wasn't fucked so I could enjoy these songs more.

Below is "Sovngarde" and the EP, both of which should be downloaded. I don't know who is releasing any of this stuff, or on what format, but I would imagine you can buy it somewhere somehow. Figure it out and do it. Chicago bands are killing it right meow, cool. I donno if they are touring this summer, but they were down at SXSW, or NSXSW or whatever. They were in Austin when everyone else but me was down there. I hope they tour, I want to see them play. Don't screamo girls rule? Word.

Fuck, Wolves!

Fuck, Wolves! are a dark hardcore/screamo band from Germany. Their sound can easily be lumped into the same category as other German screams bands like Louise Cyphre and June Paik. They have some of my favorite dynamics and use some real nasty chords. The record quality of their various releases is interesting cuz its never really that "good" but it always sounds good. You know?

I first heard about this band a long ass time ago, like back in tenth or eleventh grade. My buddy was friends with their guitarist at the time from way back when, so we kept in touch or whatever. Said guitarist moved to the states like right before FW started to get more popular. I've stayed in contact with the band over the years, making plans that fall through and things like that. I always told them I would chug them, but every time I was prepared to do whatever they had something just over the horizon I was waiting for. I think that the dudes are in other projects but I don't know any of the names off the top of my head.

Fuck, Wolves! have one half a shit ton of releases, including a split and some 7 inches. They get their stuff put out by Moment of Collapse, so go float on over there and grab some shit. All of what has been provided below is good, so check it out. I got all their stuff. The band are really nice dudes, talk to them and stuff. If you are in Europe you should try to check them out if you can, they seem to tour a good bit.

Recentish video. Wurd.

Innards / Reptilian Split

Alright so check it, so many of my boys got together and did a lil split. Black With Sap are one of the labels who are putting this joint out, so go snag that fucking pre-order boyyyyy.

Two songs from each band. Both have been Chug'd already, so if you are not in the loop like a dumb motherfucker then you can check the old posts. Honestly, if you have never bumped both of these bands you are behind the fucking times. Real talk. Some of the realest in the game. G.A.M.E.

Also, Innards and The Reptilian are gonna be doin a lil west coast tour next week. I think The Reptrillian are already on the road? Maybe? Actually no they don't dip til after XXXMASXXX. The dates are here. After Innards get off the Reptiles are gonna be touring with a band from Milwaukee who I heard has some beef with your boy. Right?

Anyways, download this shit. Buy this shit. Love this shit. Go check out their bangin ass tour on the west coast. Support the Trillian when they are without Innards if you can go see em. Also, on the real, you can get 424/7 from Innards on tour, you know you know. $$$$$$. Any by the by, don't buy your friends shitty xmas gifts. More Loma Prieta & Punch

Alot of buzz about Loma Prieta recently. They got signed to Deathwish, who are putting out their upcoming fully "I.V.", and are currently finishing up a tour of the states. Some of those new songs are floating around the internet and stuff. Pretty sure CMHWAK radio got like an exclusive track or something.

Since Loma has been so hot in the collective unconcious as of late I was checking up on them, gettin the haps, when I realized how much I have been slacking on my Loma game. First of all, found the Punch split which is pretty really dope. Secondly, realized that Life/Less wasn't even on here, so I felt obligated to correct that error. Also, Punch has an LP out which we haven't posted yet, so that is going down too. And another EP. I'm not as into Punch as Carlo is so I would have figured he would cover all the Punch stuff. Homeboy was slippin, but its okay because Daddys home now. Needless to say all this music is good, bro. Buy it after you try it, bro.

I'm kind of really bummed because Loma is playing Portland right now, and I'm just baking on my couch watching NOVA and eating my third and fourth can of Chef Boyardee of the day. I don't know if they are going to be in Seattle tomorrow but it doesn't even matter because I have school all night. Growing up sucks.

Marat

Marat was a short lived Screamo band from The Netherlands composed of members of the legendary (and soon to be Chug'd) Shikari. In their short short lifespan Marat only put out one release, a four song EP thingy called "Songs From The Crypt". Moment of Collapse put out the 7".

I first heard about this band a while ago when I was looking about Shikari stuff, but I didn't download Marat's record for some reason. The other day I found myself back on MOC's website listening to their media player and zoned out for a second. I zoned back in real fucking fast when I heard the Marat song. Five minutes later I had that shit downloaded.

So yeah, Marat has female vocals! obviously the band sounds somewhat similar to Shikari, but they also use some chords and shit that remind me of Tristan Tzara and stuff (kind of obvious because of time-frame and location? maybe). The first song is kind of slow and chill compared to the other three songs. There is a nice groovy break in the middle. The second song is kind of blistering and heavy, pretty hardcore and stuff. Marat is the kind of screamo band that, instead of being super technical and fast, is just super solid and driving, with some chugs and shit going on. Third song, side B, has some different vocals. Male vocals. Brutal vocals. He kind of does that whimper talk/scream thing for a second and its tight. The riffs in this song are so fucking heavy. Then it gets all epic and stuff and everyone is stoked. Probably thier heaviest track. The last song is MY FUCKING JAM. That fucking riff dude. Sounds so much like "Come On Jane". Way punk, way awesome, this song is just kind of nasty. Like stanky face nasty.

Download it below. Buy it from Moment of Collapse, or I guess anywhere you can. There is some other thing called Marat, so if you look for videos and on last.fm there is alot of shit for "Marat" but it isn't the dope Marat. Sadly this is all that exists. I looked on their myspace and there is a photo of a Marat Demo, but it looks like it is just the songs from "Songs From The Crypt". If you know anything about this band feel free to comment about it. No video. Word.

Lester Freamon

Lester Freamon is a screamo band from Las Vegas. One of the dudes is also in Ruined Tongue, and I think some of the other dudes are in a band called Ein. Alex, who is in Ruined Tongue, is also one of the two dudes who run Radical Friends. Pretty radical.

So Lester is doing a lot of shit right now, apparently. Their new 7" is called "Natural Police" and is going to be put out by Moment of Collapse real soon, which is totally radical. Friends For Life is putting it out on tape too. Radical. Homeboy also told me that LF is going to be doing some splits real soon, and Moment of Collapse is going to be apart of that shit too. Radical. They were a part of a tape compilation called "The Monster Mash Volume 1" which was done by Plastic Smile Records, I can't find the album online but it sounds pretty dope. CMHWAK told me the lineup and the bands are pretty cool.

So yeah, Natural Police. All the tracks are pretty dope, abrasive and driving at times and then groovy at other times. Pretty nice to hear bands making this kind of music in the midst of all the other stuff that is going on nowadays. I guess if i had to compare this band to other bands I would say they remind me, kind of, of bands like William Bonney, a little bit of Kidcrash, and a tiny bit of Off Minor. Those are the only three that come to mind at the moment. I don't know.

Fuck it. This shit is cool so you should download it. When the 7 inch comes out you should snag it. Hopefully I'll be in the loop when their splits drop or whatever so I can share those bad boys. Pretty stoked on this band at the moment. Buy stuff from Radical Friends too. They are Radical. Couldn't find any videos, I mean there are a lot of jankity videos from shows but I can't tell if its them or not. Oh well. Word.
