The Pine

"Bunch of scroungy kids from Bakersfield, CA that play some truly righteous emotional music in the vein of The Hated,Evergreen, and some other bands that shared those same characteristics. All of their albums have been released on very plain Jane black vinyl outside of Don’t Need Regret and split 7” with La Quiete, the last of their albums.

Roger King, Kurt King, and Bill McCreary went on to form Reaching Away in 2009 with Nick Castro. " - Last FM

I've been listening to a lot of The Pine recently. Mainly on the bus. I used to not get down with homies voice but it grew on me pretty much over night. Their shit is really catchy. If you don't know Evergreen or The Hated, The Pine sounds like a more punk Mineral or something like that. Again, I've heard people arn't down with The Pine because of the dude's voice, but give them a few listens before you write them off. You can get their stuff from a lot of distros so try to snag some stuff. I found pretty much all of their stuff, I think, except for their demo. They have songs on "Wayfarer's All" and "This Is Your Life", both of which have already been posted.Word.

Louise Cyphre

Louise Cyphre is the shit. They, along with bands like June Paik and Trainwreck, are Cry Me A River regulars hailing from Germany. Their sound is generally trashy punk with a blend of '90's hardcore/screamo, although they commonly have chilled out melodic breaks. I have no fucking idea how many releases they have, but below is their 35 song discography that runs just over 45 minutes. In case you really care they did splits with La Quiete, The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, Shikari, and were on the Emo Apocalypse and Armageddon. Seeing as I have no idea how many releases this band has, I have no idea if the discography I have had for some time is complete. I do know that their song from the Emo Apocalypse is missing, so I put that below as well. Heres a video from their set at the 2006 Cry Me A River Fest.

La Quiete

La Quiete is an incredible screamo band from Italy. They share a drummer with Raein and are currently touring in Australia. I can't think of anything to write about this band that will do them any justice, but if you have never heard of LAQ you really need to get on that. It has taken me a very long time to collect these albums, and i still do not have all of their material. A good portion of their stuff is splits/compilations, but they do have some full lengths and eps. I do not have the following:
1. Verso La Fine. Benefit Compilation Against Morini Breeding.
2. Memento Mori
Here is a video of the song "Metempsicosi Del Fine Ultimo:Nevrastenica Oscillazione Fra Poli Estremi" being played in Cooksville, Tennessee.

The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra

Apoplexy Twist Orchestra is a screamo/emo-violence band from Germany that was around from '01 to 04. Their sound is comparable to June Paik and Louise Cyphre. I first heard these guys on the Emo Annihilation compilation, and then really got into them when I downloaded their split with La Quiete. Besides their split with La Quiete, they have a full length, a song off The Emo Annihilation Compilation, and a Split with The Kinetic Crash Cooperation. I could only find one version of the split with The Kinetic Crash Cooperation, and the artist names are not labeled. I tried to figure it out but I didn't want to label anything wrong and be a DILL HOLE.

Anywho, here's a video of 400 Miles and Counting, it isn't live, but it has some cool video clips and stuff.

K.C.Milian

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

K.C. Milian was an Italian instrumental band. They released one demo, a split with La Quiete, and an EP. Their sound is more chilled out, like Explosions In The Sky, but has some pretty sweet buildups. They are not very mathy or rocking, like Tera Melos and By The End Of Tonight, but their song layouts are similar to that of Piglet. Also, some songs have a trumpet, and another has some buried/distant screaming, but I can't really decipher what they are saying, so it may be in Italian, unlike Raein who tend to have English vocals. I read on a blog that the guitarist has tried to start other bands, but none have been as successful. It was really hard to find these albums, especially Season//Repeat. I can't find any videos, but, here are both of their last.fm accounts where you can hear their songs. They have two because their name is commonly misspelled, so heres number 1 and 2. Enjoy!
