Battle Royale is a noisy emo band from Kansas City, Missouri. Brothers in the kush. I really really fucking dig this shit, but I'm too faded to really write anything of substance. They are affiliated with my boy Bobby's label, The Ghost Is Clear. Love that shit.
BR has a big split and a demo, both are choice. All the bands on the split are dope nasty, so get down with it. Buy it if you have some money. Got them links to the bandcamp so you can check it before you get it, but y'alls better get it. Backed hard. Word.
Yo this kid Josh just sent me this email so I'm gonna get my copy pasta on. This Wolfpack thing looks pretty dope, yalls should get onboard. Can't hurt. If you email homeboy ask to be added to the Facebook group that is some kind of forum for the creation of this website. I'm trying to be a despot.
HOMIE'S EMAIL
Yo, Im starting a website and would like your band to be a part of it if youre interested? There is a secret Facebook group that will be an organizing group to help create the website for Wolfpack Collective which will be dropping sometime mid April (website design by Clayton Hebenik of Floods). Wolfpack Collective is a collective group of bands OF ANY GENRE and people that stretch across the US and Canada, each band will have their own page on the website where their music will stream and the bands will be organized by geographic location, which should DRASTICALLY decrease the stress thats involved with booking tours. There will be two messageboards- one for WPC bands to interact with each other and one that is public To submit to be a WPC artist please use the checklist document from our documents section of this group This idea is still in the planning stages, so if you have any thoughts that could help this become something even better, let me know on here. -Josh Brumley

I think this could be pretty cool. Good idea regardless. Tell 'em you heard about it from me, so I look badass. Word
Finally, the split between William Bonney and Droughts is done. WB has had their songs done for a hot minute, but they weren't mastered or something. I guess that the album's release was waiting on the Droughts tracks, but I don't know when they got released. Fuck you Jack for not giving me these tracks first, I snagged this release off of My Endless Minutes (one of my favorite blogs). If you don't like gang vocals you are shit outta luck, cuz your in sing along city baby.
Droughts are first on the split. I've never listened to the before but I liked what I heard. Granted I'm using jankity ear buds and watching Boys N The Hood on T.V (BOY, GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE), I still paid a good bit of attention to the music. Droughts fits the mold of mid-west emo pretty well, you know what I mean? Their guitars have a nice tone and I really enjoy their song structures.
William Bonney is obviously second. Next. Whatever. Their shit is bonkers, super tight. These are the best songs they have put out, even though this is just their second release. Rippage all over the place. Obviously a highlight are Jack's vocals and lyrics, he is such a poet. Mikey, Ethan, Henry and El Moustache rip it up pretty hard. Really heavy emo jams, with a double bass tastefully thrown in there. All their songs rule. All the songs on the split rule, but I'm partial to this side of the split because they have been floating around for a while. One of the songs is my name spelled incorrectly.
Yo, download the fuck out of this split. I don't know how its being release, or who is doing it, but you should pick it up when you can. I'm pretty sure Droughts still play regularly, so go check that out in the Mid-West. Willy is spread out all over the place, but they are getting back together for a tour this summer, you can find the dates pretty easily. Check that out too.
It's been a very long time chuggers. Roblet is keeping this thing going, which I'm grateful for. Life has been full of changes lately, including a lack of internet for the most part. So here I briefly offer you a 7" spotlight on an awesome band from Chicago (I think) that are just playing downright good ol' pop punk jams. Four songs, none longer than 2 minutes, and you'll find yourself playing it over and over again. This is definitely one of my favorite pop punk records in my entire collection. So download, jam out, and buy their shit or see them when they are playing in your town! They just did a tour not too long ago and I regrettably missed their D.C. date.
Ittō are a techy hardcore band from Chicago. They sound kind of like Capsule, but not as crazy heavy. One of the dudes was in The Para-Medics, and I'm pretty sure one of the other guys was in another dope band from Chicago but I'm not sure. Anyways, this shit slays, and mnwa is going to be doing a lil mini tour with these guys from Allston to Chicago, which makes me stupid stoked. Download their EP thingy below. Word
Hey I still hate using Chug for the band promotion but we just figured out dates for summer tour and since its the biggest we have attempted I figured I would post them up here and see if anyone can help us get some dates in areas where we don't know people. If you can help us book something please email us at mnwa666@gmail.com
