Osceola

Osceola is a screamo super group based in Maryland that has shared members with, amongst others, Tunes For Bears To Dance To, Dawn Treader and Fair Roots. As far as the music is concerned, they use pretty technical guitar work with wonderful tone and driving rhythm sections along with Mikey's mixture of yelps and singing. They have toured the U.S with Army of Kashyyk and Suis La Lune, and have put out a slew of releases. Utarid Tapes recently put out a discography tape, which you should pick up sometime. I was originally just going to put that up here, but I decided to put all of their shit because all of their splits are really good and you should check out all the bands they have worked with. So below is their Discography, "Our Words Speak Blank Stares", The Japan Tour cd, The Osceola Ep plus the track "Translucent", their splits with Army of Kashyyk, Suis La Lune, Monarchs & their 4-way split with Boy Problems, Lautrec and The Reptilian. I also added a video of them playing "Malax". Go buy their shit and keep an ear out for an upcoming show. They are currently inactive. Word

Harrison Bergeron

Photobucket

Alright guys, here it is, Harrison Bergeron's demo. I know this is one that some people have been waiting on for a while. These guys recently played a reunion show which, unfortunately, I did not attend. For those of you not familiar with these guys, they were around from 2005-2006 and went on to form Street Smart Cyclist, Storm the Bastille, and Boy Problems, three incredibly good bands. These guys pretty much stand up just as well as any of those other bands, although you can tell they were a bit younger when they wrote these songs. Nonetheless, "Like Lightning Six Billion Strong" and "Darkness Washed Over the Dude" (awesome song title by the way) is some of the most epic shit I've ever heard. Really explosive guitar riffs and intricate drumming, with intense screamed vocals and melodic gang back ups. Check it the fuck out.

I'm pretty sure they released a tape at their reunion show limited to 100, but have no idea if it sold out or where to buy one. Try the band's myspace or their other project's myspaces.

Snowing (Ex-Street Smart Cyclist, Boy Problems)

Check out what the boys from Street Smart Cyclist and Boy Problems have been up to lately:

While I'm stoked as fuck to see John Galm still making music, I fear that this may mean that the rumored Boy Problems break up has actually taken place. Either way, I can't wait to see what these guys do.

Check out Snowing's myspace here.

Boy Problems

Photobucket

Boy Problems is an emo band from Philadelphia featuring members of Harrison Bergeron I think? I know these guys are somehow connected to that whole Harrison/Storm the Bastille/Street Smart Cyclist/Hightide Hotel group of bands from the Lehigh area.

Anyway, Boy Problems plays an extremely original brand of emo. The guitar's are totally clean, and comparable to American Football really, while the vocals are screamed. It sounds amazing. My favorite song on the demo is the first, "I Swallowed a Bug" which features a hilarious Superbad sound clip as well as some of the most rad hooks I've ever heard.

You can (and SHOULD) buy this album because it's only a whopping FOUR DOLLARS(!!!) on Boy Problems' Myspace, so DO IT.
