"The Sound of Young America"

I don't know if this record is out yet, but all the songs are recorded and online. I'm close friends with three of these bands, so I'm really stoked on this release even though I think the name is lame as hell. The four way split consists of Itto, Innards, Calculator, and Capacities. Flannel Gurl is putting this joint out, so stream it and then buy it.

Weakness

Weakness is a screams band from Austin. Apparently there used to be a girl in the band, but shes gone now, so its just three dudes. You see that boy playing drums? Obviously this band is dope.

Weakness just put out a split with Greyscale, and then they have an older split with Laika. Aside from that, there is a demo and a new fully in the works. You can get all of their stuff from their bandcamp. Buy their merch though, weed isn't free. Word.

Adobe Homes / Innards Split

Sometimes the homies get together and make some really awesome shit. You know, there are those bands that you just know would make awesome split partners and would be great together on tour. Sometimes those groups get a chance to work together, and other times they don't. Well, this time, they did. And they made such a good record.

The shit is only 3 songs long. Adobe Holmes only put up one song, and then inrdz threw two on there. I believe Adobe Homes are on side a, I mean I labeled it as such on my files, so if that is wrong then WHOOPS. Change it yourself. I also don't know the "official" name of the split so I just winged it. But I went to college, I'm pretty smart, so I think I guessed right. The split is in .wav, I'm sorry if that is a problem but I don't feel like converting it. If you want to do that you can really easily and effortlessly, but I mean I'm cool with waves.

So lets talk about the Adobe Homes song first. First off, AJ's vocals are really dope. Homeboy does the whole cry yell thing when he isn't shrieking  and both sound great. Vocally this is their best song, in my expert opinion. All three instruments have such boss tone, you have no idea until you listen to it just how great these recordings turned out sonically. The band has always been really good at blending different parts together effortlessly, so for instance this song starts off bouncy  then gets into a thrashy bit that will somewhat dip back into bounce-town, and then shit gets real slow and sad just to jump back into the heavy. Shit sounds really full, I'm pretty impressed. It sounds like he says "I smoke". I want to believe he is crying "Since you been gone, I smoke".

Now we get to the Innards half. What can I really say about Innards anymore? The dudes are some of my best buds and at the head of the modern screamo class. Seriously though, they raise the bar with every release and are becoming popular because of it. The dudes have grown up so much since I first met them and I'm so stoked for how far they have come. The first song is 50 second long. It isn't as bouncy and groovy as some of their other stuff, but instead is somewhat heavy in the beginning and then gets melodic towards the second half. More driving than anything else. Obviously everyone rips it super hard. Obviously their tone is damn near perfect. I mean these things are a given. The second song is way more "punk", just because its faster and stuff. More head bobby and less of that dance that Leo tends to always do. You know, that one dance. Is this my favorite bath of Innards songs? No, not particularly. But that doesn't mean that this release isnt fuck awesome and one of the better scream splits of the last few months.

Both the bands are the fucking homies. I love these dudes. Both these bands are touring in the summer, and are playing a show that turned into a fucking fest that I booked called No Brains Fest aka Homie Fest. Basically its a huge show that my friends who are coming thru to play that Flannel Gurl festival are going to play at. It is going to be rad as all hell. The split was put out by Flannel Gurl, so pick it up from them on that really pretty vinyl. Please support my friends. Please support these awesome bands. Word.

Father Figure - Jumping Off A Building

The dudes have done it again. Hot off the press. For those of you who don't know, Father Figure is dudes from Two Knights and Tommy from Innards shredding it up. Riffs for days and days. I really like dudes vocals too, shit is sweet. Some of that good screamo. We played with them on tour in Texas but our car fucked up in Amarillo and we got there like at the very end of their set, which was still tight but I wish I saw the whole thing. Shit is hella trill. Check it out and tell all your people about it, cuz its some of the best screams your gonna hear for a while. Real talk. Word.

Innards - I've Lost Everything

Yo, Chug exclusive. Today, Count Your Lucky Stars put up the pre-order for Innards' new ten inch lp. I want to help them make some sales/exposure by posting the album and stuff. I've Lost Everything is fucking dope. Takes screamo to the next level. Innards has always been one of my favorite bands around and some of the best dudes in the world, so I am beyond stoked on this new album. First off, 12 songs in 18 minutes. Everything that makes Innards awesome is doubled with this LP. Seriously mind blowing. The production of this record is pretty spot on for a DIY screamo band, kind of gritty but pretty much clean. I am always amazed at how they can make songs that are both spastic and melodic. Leos vocals and lyrics are great, as usual. He just had a lil baby too, which is dope. Check out the record below or on the bandcamps, and please please please pick up that pre order. For real, support my dudes and CYLS. It was super dope that they let me post this shit fresh out the kitchen, so to speak. Keeping screams punk. Top ten records of the year right y'all, don't waste any time and check this out now. Word.

Father Figure

Father Figure is a screamy band from Denton, TX in which Tommy from Innards plays drums. I don't know if the other guys are in bands, I wouldn't be surprised if they were. I also don't have the slightest idea how to pronounce their album name. No clue. I do know that they are going to be on tour with Innards starting like tomorrow or some crazy shit, so check all of that shit out. Playing with some dope bands. This album is really cool, high pitched vox and stuff. I dig it pretty hard. Even if I didn't like this band I would still support it because of Tommy, but I do like this band. I really enjoy this band. Download their album below, or you can jump on their bandcamp and pay them for a download. They should have merch on their tour, so throw them some bones while you throw Innards some bones. Word.

Innards & Two Knights Split - No Scum Allowed

Two posts in like five minutes. I just got off tour with Innards, and they have been talking about this split for a long ass time. I didn't know it was out yet. I still don't know if the pressing is done. Anyways, Innards are dope skreemz and Two Knights are noodle dudes. Both are from the Lone Star State. The Innards songs are dope as fuck, per usual, and the Two Knights songs are pretty cool as well. First time listening to that band but im down with it. Down with the sickness. Go buy this when you can. I don't know shit about Two Knights, but if they have some merch you should pick it up. You should also pick up some Innards merch (Tracing 10inch and our split 7inch whenever that comes out). Innards are going on tour again this winter with The Reptillian, last I heard, so keep an ear out for that.

On a semi related note, since I just got back from tour I'm going to be throwing up some jams from bands I met in the last two weeks. I'm pretty stoked about that. Thanks for everyone who came out and kicked it and shit.

I got this from Circling the Drain, who seems to have the leak on everything. http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifHopefully soon I'mma get something that I know no one else has. Crossing my fingers. Word.

Innards / мища - 424/7 Split

I don't really know what to talk about right now. Vancouver just won game two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs because the Boston goalie fucked up super bad. Idiot.

This split is going to be put out on 7 inch by Word Problems and Texas Toast. Innards is from Fort Worth, Texas and мища is from Baltimore, MD. If you don't know these bands you can check out previous posts where we actually gave enough shits to describe the groups. We were hoping to have the wax by our combined tour, but complications here and there have pushed the record's release back to like the end of the month or something. I don't really know. мища has one song and Innards put two tracks on this split. Seeing as we wont have the vinyl of this release, both bands are going to be selling it on alternative mediums. If you can't figure it out, 424/7 is, obviously, 420 424/7

I'm posting this now for two reasons, the most important being that it has already been posted up on some other blogs so theres no point in me waiting any longer. The second is promote tour I guess. Innards - Tracing

Here are the hot new tracks from Innards. These songs were recorded earlier in the winter and have been mastered and remastered like 3 times. This is at least the third set of these songs I've had. Fuck it. If you don't know, Innards is a skramz band from Ft. Worth. They just did a west coast tour that was supposed to be with Adobe Homes and did a few days with my band this summer. The only thing they have out, aside from the cd version of these songs, is a demo that is up for download on Chug as well. Since the demo they lost a vocalist, so no more high pitched screaming. On a side note, I have read that Innards sounds like Jeromes Dream, which is fucking stupid. Just because you have a high pitched vocalist doesn't mean you sound like JD.

The new songs are chiller than the old stuff. They re-recorded some demo songs for this release, but most of it is new. Tommy still noodles and bounces on the guitar but its more melodic than their former shit, and the chilled out parts are longer. Leo does more of a yell than a scream on these tracks, sometimes yelping sometimes crying. Always washing his dick after he goes number one. The drums are still crazy and all over the place and Justin still does whatever on bass. No one gives a fuck about bass anyways. These songs are going to be pressed on a 10 inch soon, but I don't know if the band is paying for it themselves or if someone is helping out. If you own a label you might wanna jump on this shit.

Innards is going to be recording again in the first week of march for a split 7 inch with my band, which will be put out on TexasToastDIY. We will be doing a Innards/мища east coast & mid-west tour in June, the dates will be up on Valentine's Day. Here's a video and the download, word.

Innards

Innards is a screamo band from Fort Worth, Texas made up of members of Jubilee/ Nouveux Riches and Zwounds. I toured with these guys for like five days and it was the shit. When we were hanging out the group had two vocalists, but shortly after their tour Mike left the band. Their sound is fast and melodic, not too off the wall and shit. The songs are easily acceptable, which makes it good in the sense that if you are into skramz you can listen to this band just as well as someone who isnt familiar with the extremes of the genre but can still appreciate solid song structure and good instrumentation. Justin plays bass and he kinda sucks. Not on the bass, just as a person. We slept together and things have never been the same. Word on the street is that they are recording a whopping ten songs this week to be placed on a variety of releases, ranging from a solo release to a split 7" with my band. Were going on tour again this summer too, so be on the lookout for those dates and shit. Below is their summer demo and a video of some of their set from when we played with them in Warrensburg, Missouri at Dad's House (Amber's Birthday Party). When I get more of their stuff I'll throw it up here. Fucked her in the puss, 420 24/7, Wishmaster 3.
